Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) has opened its gats to the technical courses for the year 2017. This year the admission will be done through the examination UPSEE. This year the U.P. STATE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION will be conducted by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University of Uttar Pradesh. Here are the details of the examination that will be held for the year 2017.
The admission process is a 3 month long process starting from the application process for candidates. This year all application for the examination will be done On-Line. The application process starts from February 24, 2016 from 11:00 AM and will end March 27, 2016 at 5:00 PM. Candidates will be given time to correct any information in the form till 30th March. This is necessary as any wrongly filled information may lead to cancellation of the form. After the filling of the form candidates can download the admit card from UPSEE website from 8th of April till the date of examination. The examination will start from 17th April and the results will be declared on or before 30th May. Soon after the declaration counseling will commence for admission in different seats.
This year the process is online and examination too will be dividing into several stages. Some papers will be a theory paper OMR based while some will be online. The candidates are required to go through the instructions well before they fill in the form and appear for the examination. Missing any of the instruction from the organizing committee will lead to cancellation of the application. This instruction will help the candidate in understanding the whole process along with the details of examination and various eligibility for the candidates. The instructions will also guide the candidate in understanding the reservation system followed by the university.
The seats are divided into various sub-divisions and thus the details of admission will help the candidate understand the process of admission. The university follows different rules for admission in first year and admission in 2nd year (Lateral) apart from this the details also helps in understanding the process followed for admission through management quota and admission in NRI quota. Going through these details the candidates will be able to clear out their doubts relating to admission in various institutes coming under UPTU and AKTU.
Admissions made to the first year courses and lateral courses will be based totally on the merit of UPSEE. Different institutions will be allowing admission through the counseling held by UPSEE organizing committee. The admission to NRI seats and management quota seats will be direct and merit of different examination like SAT-II or qualifying examination will be considered. Going through the details of the procedure will help the candidate in understanding the process after the examination result will be declared.
The organizing committee has set different eligibility criteria for different courses. Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech courses must have 45% (40% for SC/ST) minimum marks in aggregate in intermediate or 10+2 examination. Admission to MBA and MCA courses has a different set of eligibility criteria. It is advised for the candidates to go through the eligibility criteria before applying for the examination.
The organizing committee will be declaring the results on or before 30th May 2016. The result this year will have the score achieved by the candidate along with the rank. This rank will be decided differently for different courses based on marks, negative replies and age of the candidate.
The University holds reservation quota for different categories as well as NRI candidates, female candidates and armed forces quota. The seats are divided into certain percentage for each category which is stated in details. If the candidate comes in any quota it is advised to go through the details of it to understand the number of seats available for the candidates.
This year around the different papers for admission in different courses are divided into two different types. The first type is the one where the candidate has to give the answers on OMR sheets while the second is computer based. These papers are to be held across different cities of U.P. as well as some major cities of India. Each candidate is required to fill 3 options of the exam center they opt for in the application form. This is essential part as once filled the center cannot be changed.
The UPSEE admit cards will be available for download in the official website of UPSEE from 8th of April 2017. The admit cards are one of the most important document for this examination which every candidate must hold during the whole admission procedure. Once the admit card is received the candidate must check for the correctness of the details in the card to ensure that they face no further problems. Downloaded cards will be considered as valid and students need to carry the printout to the examination halls
The examination fees for UPSEE is set to Rs. 1000 for Male general/ Transgender candidates of general and OBC categories. While the fees of Rs. 500 will be charged for SC/ST category and Female candidates/ physically handicapped candidates of all categories.
